In a fittingly sophisticated setting, Vitrum’s president introduced the 21st edition of the show to the press and international glass industry associations.

The four-day Düsseldorf fair viewed the world of glass from a global-economic perspective and the Gala Dinner held to officially present VITRUM 2019 was one of the highlight events. The elegant, cosmopolitan atmosphere of the Melià Innside Düsseldorf Derendorf reinforced the importance of the gala dinner, which was attended by representatives of the glass associations and international trade press.

Organized by Vitrum with the invaluable support of ITA (Italian Trade Agency), the meeting focused on the event that will become the ‘glass capital’ in 2019 and on its solid business opportunities. “We are extremely pleased with how the evening went. It was an honor to host the representatives of the leading international glass associations and the foremost trade press from 13 different countries” remarked Laura Biason, Director of Vitrum.

During his brief yet impassioned presentation, Vitrum President Dino Zandonella Necca introduced the 2019 edition of the show, emphasizing its highly-international appeal and many updates designed to better meet the needs of industry professionals.

With visitors from 86 countries and 48% of the exhibitors from 21 foreign countries, the closing figures for the 2017 edition confirm Vitrum’s positioning among the leading global trade shows in terms of international drawing power.

If Vitrum 2017 was “year zero”, the turning point and re-launch of the show, all the conditions for further improvement are in place. Visitors will be even more central to the show in 2019, thanks to Vitrum’s power to attract qualified international buyers and ensure them an even more user-friendly experience.

“We are hard at work to guarantee visitors and exhibitors the best possible experience and make sure they are aware of every possible business opportunity – states Zandonella Necca – Our aim is to attract qualified participants who are keen to be here and fully-committed. We are optimistic; the forecasts for 2019 are already extremely favorable, a reflection of the very positive outcome in 2017. On closing day, the exhibitors said they were extremely happy with the high quality of visitors to the show.”

“Thanks to the active involvement of manufacturers, associations, universities and research centers, and to its organizational autonomy and flexibility, Vitrum completely revamped its format to respond proactively to the needs of glass industry professionals. We are always open to new ideas and suggestions, and willing to build the future together!”

Vitrum reaffirms its status as the “Home of the world of glass”, paving the way for meetings and networking among all the industry’s players.

A lot of thought went into the new “Vitrum specialized” – 12 themed pathways that allow visitors to plan their visits based on their needs and preferences, organize their time efficiently while never missing an opportunity and have immediate access to all the information they need.

A number of other developments are set for Vitrum 2019 – from the dedicated MatchMaking area for companies to meet with agents and distributors, to the even more numerous (compared to 2017) participation of hosted international buyers organized with the support of the Italian Trade Agency (ITA), to moments for networking and entertainment, like the Exhibitor Event.

The most popular services from the 2017 edition are all coming back. In addition to the discount for additional square meters, there is a very economical all-inclusive fee that includes free Wi-Fi, basic stand cleaning and electricity, exhibitor parking space, free use of the e-contact visitor data acquisition system, along with the opportunity for new exhibitors to buy turnkey stand solutions, free entrance passes, the MatchMaking system, an app designed to help organize one’s visit to the show, a complete calendar of technical and informative seminars and, last but not least, a trendy, accessible, welcoming and cost-effective location like Milan, and the appeal of the great artistic and cultural destinations, all just a few hours away by train.

The worth of the project that has gained recognition by leveraging the best and most innovative benefits of the Industry 4.0 plan, is validated in the closing remarks of Zandonella Necca:

“After the successful turning point of the 2017 edition, Vitrum 2019 will provide industry professionals with exclusive services for a very highly-targeted visitor profile. It will be fertile ground for developing new ideas and a great opportunity for business expansion and development for the entire industry.”
