O'Donnell New CEO Of Kokomo Opalescent Glass

Richard Elliot, president of Kokomo Opalescent Glass (KOG), announced today that controlling interest in the company was sold to John O’Donnell, former president of First National Bank in Kokomo, and lifelong resident of the Kokomo Area.

Elliot, who will remain president of KOG, said, “We are excited about having John and his business join KOG and we look forward to expanding our distribution and production base.” O’Donnell will assume the role of chief executive officer and chairman of the board of KOG immediately. “I look forwards to this opportunity,” said O’Donnell. “[KOG] has a rich tradition and long history of producing quality glass products.I hope to be able to build on the strong foundation and help to position the company for future growth.”
 
KOG has produced opalescent glass in the Kokomo area since 1888 and is the oldest producer of opalescent glass in the United State. They employ 35 people in the production plant and retail shop located at 1310 South Market St. in Kokomo. KOG produces over 22,000 varieties and colors of glass that are shipped to customers around the world.
