O-I Announces Joint Venture in Malaysia

Owens-Illinois, Inc. (NYSE: OI) announced that it has entered into a jointventure agreement with LCTH Corporation Berhad in Malaysia, a public listed company in the Malaysian stock exchange, to manufacture, sell and distribute specialty plastics molded parts, assemblies and filled goods under the name O-I Plastics Malaysia Sdn Bhd. The joint venture will initially make parts for ink jet printer cartridges that O-I currently manufactures in Singapore.

"This partnership incorporates LCTH's local knowledge and experience in the region with O-I's process and product technology and global brand which will facilitate future opportunities to support current and future customers in the Asia Pacific region," said Michael McDaniel, vice president and general manager of O-I Closure and Specialty Products.

O-I Plastics Malaysia Sdn Bhd will occupy a single story factory building wholly-owned by Classic Advantage Sdn Bhd, a 100 percent owned subsidiary of LCTH.
