The National Home Improvement Council today launched their industry-led consumer magazine, Progress, dedicated to showcasing the best and newest ideas for home improvement in the UK.

Progress is the official magazine of the NHIC, produced quarterly and reflecting the important work of its high profile membership. It is available in both hard copy and digital formats.

Progress is a vital tool to provide readers with engaging, high quality and topical content covering industry news and information, events, legislation changes, case studies and feature articles drawn from across the spectrum of industries associated with high quality home improvements and renovation.

Its informative and valuable articles and opinion pieces are written and supplied by key individuals associated with the associations and trade bodies who make up the combined voice of the NHIC.

Progress magazine will have a readership of thousands and underpin the NHIC’s mission, as the voice of the home improvement industry, to promote the benefits of effective home improvement to the general public.

Progress is being launched at the ‘NHIC – Raising Standards Together’ event, held at the House of Lords and inspired by the release of the Each Home Counts report.

Guest speakers include Clive Betts, MP, discussing policy matters which affect the country’s existing housing stock, and Dr Peter Bonfield, OBE, FREng from BRE, discussing the importance of the NHIC providing much-needed leadership in the home improvement sector to raise standards and protect consumers.

The ‘Raising Standards Together’ event is supported by NHIC member Recticel Insulation. Paul Forrester, Technical Services Manager at Recticel, said, “The NHIC’s diverse membership, broad knowledge base and deep-rooted links to government give it formidable and, most importantly, effective influence. At Recticel Insulation, we share similar values and ambitions to the NHIC, recognising the importance of achieving the best quality housing stock possible. We are delighted to count ourselves among the NHIC’s members and wanted to support an event where we could showcase our efforts to raise standards through training, communication and developing the construction industry’s future talent.”

Anna Scothern, Executive Director of the NHIC said, “Events such as this where we bring members and their guests together with other industry thought leaders and key government officials are crucial in delivering a high quality and effective home improvement industry capable of meeting the demands of energy efficient and connected homes for the future.”
