When TuffX Processed Glass was contracted to supply a number of products from its portfolio as part of the new Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) in Coventry, the company knew the calibre of its range would be scrutinized.

Housed in a 12,000 square metre purpose built facility at Ansty Park, the MTC represents one of the largest public sector investments in UK manufacturing for many years and operates some of the most advanced manufacturing equipment in the world. The Manufacturing Technology Centre in Coventry is working with a number of world leading research partners including aerospace companies, universities and TWI Ltd to develop new manufacturing and engineering techniques.

TuffX supplied a variety of products for the project including balustrading and stairwells at the new centre. Stairwells were manufactured in 21.5 mm PVB toughened glass, which consisted of two 10mm green tint glasses and 1.5mm PVB interlayer; whilst the bridge incorporated 21.5 mm green tint toughened glass with a 1.5mm thick Sentry Guard Plus SGP interlayer.

Senior management at TuffX consider that use of its products in this installation reflect an acknowledgement of product quality associated with the brand and recognition of the overall standards of excellence that are synonymous with TuffX as a company.
