Displays & Optical Technologies Inc. (DOTI), a manufacturer of massive, lightweight optics, announces the development of a glass lamination process we call Lone Star Shatter Shield (LS³), which can be ground, polished and optically coated after laminating.

LS³ has proven useful in applications including entertainment, displays, military simulation and science museums. It is an excellent choice for addressing liability concerns with glass display components.

LS³ is a proprietary laminating process used to join bent or flat glass layers, producing a single, durable, shatter-resistant substrate. These can then be used “as-is” or ground and polished to an accurate optical surface suitable for coating.

Our new process yields an extremely durable and highly shatter-resistant substrate that retains the benefits expected in quality glass optics. No more sagging or tearing of Mylar mirrors. No fragile coatings like acrylic reflectors. DOTI can manufacture high quality, shatter-resistant glass mirrors and windows to meet your design parameters.
