Kreh elected PPG treasurer

Susan M. Kreh has been elected treasurer of PPG Industries. Kreh began her PPG career in 1985 at the former Torrance, Calif., coatings plant as a member of the company's financial management development program.

She moved to PPG's headquarters in Pittsburgh in 1986 and subsequently held financial analysis and managerial assignments in corporate finance and information technology, and in the coatings and chemicals businesses.

Kreh joined the specialty chemicals business in 1996 as manager, financial analysis, and was named director, financial services, in 1998. In 2000 she was appointed general manager of the optical monomers and coatings business. In her new role, Kreh replaces Daniel W. Kiener, who left the company in December.

A Milwaukee native, Kreh, 40, graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 1985 with a bachelor's degree in accounting and information sciences. She earned a master's degree in business administration from Duquesne University in 1989.

Kreh is a member of the board of directors of Memorial Park Christian Preschool in McCandless, Pa.

PPG is a global supplier of coatings, glass, fiber glass and chemicals, with 120 manufacturing locations in 23 countries. Sales in 2001 were $8.2 billion.
