The trend towards the automation of work processes is advancing in large steps. But who understands the underlying functional relationships? Who analyses and designs the processes on such highly complex, computer-controlled plants?

Euroglas always keeps a watchful eye on current developments and regularly adapts the apprenticeship professions that it offers accordingly. From now on, the company may also train electronics technicians for automation technology. The first apprenticeship place is already expected to be filled from August 2016 onwards.

A major feature of the new apprenticeship will be process measurement and control technology. The installation, configuration and adjustment of sensor systems is just as much a part of the profession as the creation of application programs for the acquisition, transmission and processing of measurement data.

Apart from a good or extended general certificate of secondary education, future electronics technicians for automation technology should have good knowledge of natural sciences as well as an interest in technical processes and an understanding of technology.
