Iraq Presents Projects At $ 750 million

Iraq put forth 12 projects to international companies in the fields of: cement industry, iron and steel, petrochemicals, fertilizers, glass, paper and cars, in the framework of the Ministry of Industry for the development of these plants and increase their productive capacity.

Iraqi Minister of Industry and Minerals, Fawzi Hariri, said in a press conference that the priority in terms of contract is related to ensuring the rights of workers in these enterprises and including them in the incentives, before signing the contract with investors.



He estimated the cost of developing the Company of Glass industry in Ramadi, by about 50 million, the Petrochemical Company by about $ 120 million, the Iron and Steel Company in Basrah by about 220 million dollars, and the the Cement Factories in Al-Qaaem (western Iraq), Sinjar (west of Mosul), Karbala and Muthanna (central Iraq) by 360 million dollars.
