Iranian Glass and Mirror Exports on the Rise

Secretariat of the High Council for Iran's Non-oil Export announced on Saturday that 40,300 tons of various types of glass and mirror worth $9.4 million were exported in the first eight month of the current year, IRNA reported.

Based on a report released by the Public Relations Department of the Commerce Ministry, last year a total of 396,000 tons of glass and mirror were produced by eight manufacturers which outweighed that of previous years by 15 percent.It further said that 220,000 tons of glass were produced in the first half of the current year, which outweighs that of the same period last year by 14 percent.The report said the export share of various types of glass and mirror considered as one of the key items in the nation's building material export basket constitutes 13 percent of the total export in value.Pakistan, Afghanistan and some Middle Eastern and African states are among the export markets for Iran's glass and mirror and if the transportation costs were reasonably adjusted, they might even be exported to European states.Secretariat of the High Council for Iran's Non-oil Export announced on Saturday that 40,300 tons of various types of glass and mirror worth $9.4 million were exported in the first eight month of the current year, IRNA reported.
