An extensive and varied collection of antique glasses from Iran and other parts of the Middle East is on display at a museum in the central German city of Duesseldorf.

The exhibition titled "Glass Art of the Middle East" showcases some 350 pieces, among them glass bowls, vases and cans from Iran's early Islamic time period.

The antique glasses provide unusual insights into the development of early glass design.
