New from Schüco International, Europe’s leading specialist in façade, window and door systems and solar energy products, is Schüco SFC 85, a stick construction, structurally glazed façade system that incorporates the flush integration of opening windows.

This adds visual appeal because opening vents and fixed lights have an identical appearance when viewed from outside or inside the building.

As a result, Schüco SFC 85 is expected to appeal particularly to architects seeking the cleanest possible lines and uninterrupted reflections across the whole face of the façade. In design terms, the system is extremely flexible since it can be used with stepped and standard double glazed units or glazing beads. It is thermally broken, has an 85mm face width and can include fixed lights weighing up to 300 kg.

In addition, Schüco SFC 85 offers architects a choice of window opening types using the Schüco AWS 102 range of aluminium windows. Insert units may be fitted either as projected top-hung vents or as parallel-opening windows and can be operated by motor drives concealed in the transoms.

All opening units are fully integrated into the load-bearing structure of Schüco SFC 85 and designers now have greater specification freedom since the new generation of Schüco fittings will allow vents weighing up to 250kg to be incorporated within the façade.
