3M Co. is laying off 40 workers at its engineering division, a company spokeswoman confirmed Friday.

 

The jobs, located mostly at 3M’s Maplewood headquarters, are part of the manufacturer’s continued efforts to reduce costs amid the recession.

 

The engineering division is a corporate function, and works with 3M’s other businesses.
