Glasstech Asia moves back to Singapore

Organisers of Asia Pacific’s glass technology show, the Glasstech Asia, have announced here today that the next event would be held at the new integrated resort in Singapore, Marina Bay Sands from 29 June to 01 July 2010.

This decision was made after the organisers, Conference & Exhibition Management Services (CEMS) and the Singapore Glass Association (SGA), had conferred with key
associations and exhibitors on the situation in the Thai capital, Bangkok. Hence, Glasstech Asia 2009, scheduled from 8 to 10 July would not be held in Thailand.

Our decision to move the event to Singapore – Asia’s most strategically located business hub - is meant to boost business efficiency and higher visitor attendance.  Its location makes participation of trade professionals from the region more convenient and accessible while they will enjoy the state-of-the-art facilities at MBS”, said Mr. Edward Liu, Managing Director of CEMS.

Mr Liu added that a new title, Solartech Asia 2010 would be included, to cater to the showcase equipment and products in the solar technology, which is increasingly being integrated into glass production and applications. In addition, another title, Glass Accessories Asia 2010 would make its debut, featuring accessories and components that go into the production of glass panels and products.

As the title event for the entire glass technology show, Glasstech Asia enjoys the support of international glass associations and key players in the Asia Pacific region - from new products and technology introductions to seminar sponsorship, ensuring quality event for all trade participants.

Glasstech Asia 2010

Notwithstanding the current worldwide economic and financial crises, Asia remains the most vibrant market for the glass industry and many global glass machinery and accessories manufacturers are still keen to take part in Glasstech Asia 2010, the most productive glass technology event in the region.

“We have been working closely with our core exhibitors from Europe and the US for more than 10 years, and we are well aware of their concerns and needs in the Asian marketplace, “ said Mr Liu.

“In order to create value for money for our exhibitors, we will be reaching out to a wider audience through our enhanced hosted buyers programme to match the needs of buyers and suppliers, with the goal of translating these efforts to better business value for each and every customer at the end of the day.  This also assures a quality attendance during the event”, Mr. Liu added.

Premier solar technology platform in the region

Being the premier glass show in Asia to present solar technology, Solartech Asia 2010 is setting the trend and bringing the best of the glass world to the region.  The focus on solar technology in the industry creates tremendous potential to the glass business.  More and more players are casting their eyes on the long-term implications of using productive glass as a unique form of sustainable design and structure.

And with the strong support of key partners with strengths on solar technology, they will enhance the value network of Glasstech Asia 2010.  This participation also ensures extensive promotion of the event to key trade professionals in this specific platform.  The support also includes the invitation of experts to speak on the prospects and on-going developments of the solar technology in the region while showcasing latest innovation during the three-day event.

Countries like China, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Italy, the Netherlands, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, the United Kingdom and the USA have all confirmed their participation and are expected to bring along with them their latest technology and equipment.

Furthermore, more than 5000 architects, contractors, property developers, automobile manufacturers, glass manufacturers, distributors & agents of hollow glassware, machinery and parts, engineers, glaziers, interior designers, automotive components distributors, window and facade builders from 50 countries are expected to attend the event.

Powerful series of seminars, the first Asia Glass Awards and the much-anticipated Asia Pacific Glass Industry Forum would be organised to bring together industry voices to present and discuss relevant topics that would be useful in facing the challenging times.
These sessions would also expected to provide participants unlimited networking opportunities to build and forge relevant business alliances.
