Intertek Announces Expanded Safety Glazing Services for Glass Manufacturers

New bullet resistance addition provides manufacturers full service solution for glass testing Adding ballistics testing to an already robust safety glazing services now positions Intertek as the full service solution provider for glass manufacturers

Intertek (LSE: ITRK), a leading provider of quality and safety solutions serving a range of industries worldwide, today announced the expansion of its safety glazing testing and certification services with the addition of bullet resistance testing for glass and fenestration products. This addition gives Intertek the ability to provide glass manufacturers a compete solution for testing and certifying glass products in a variety of industries, such as government, automotive, locomotive and building construction. With the 2008 acquisition of H.P.

White Laboratories, experts in ballistics resistance testing, Intertek is now able to offer a full suite of safety glazing test services for glass products to government and commercial standards, including UL 752, ASTM F 1233-8, NIJ - STD - 0108.01, EN 1063, BSI 5051, and FRA 223, ANSI Z97.1, ANSI/SAE Z26.1-2006, CAN/CGSB 12.1, CPSC 16, CPSC 1201, and UL 9. "Adding ballistics testing to an already robust safety glazing services now positions Intertek as the full service solution provider for glass manufacturers," said Gregg Tiemann, Chief Executive, Intertek Commercial and Electrical division. "Intertek is always looking to simplify the testing and certification process for customers, and this latest move helps to streamline processes, improve efficiencies and lower costs associated with testing and certification of glazing products." In addition to bullet resistance testing, Intertek provides glass testing for failure analysis, security, fire, performance, and Safety Glazing Certification Council (SGCC) certification to ANSI Z97.1, CPSC 16 and CFR 1201 safety standards.
