Bridging the Gulf

Bookings for space continue to pour in for the 3rd annual Gulf Glass event organised by Gattaca Communications, which is scheduled to take place on the 16-18 March at Expo Centre Sharjah, UAE. “We expect that within the next 2 weeks nearly all the space will have been taken up” says Kevin Hudson, event director, “in fact this show has really grabbed the imagination of exhibitors from all over the industry. This clearly demonstrates that the location for the show, and the fact that it remains totally focused on glass, and is not a general building materials event, is spot on!”

It would seem” says Hudson, “that we are all aware of the current economic climate, this is no time to be shrinking back and not investing. If anything, this is the most crucial time to keep your technology and materials right at the forefront of your customers’ minds. In that case, the entire Middle East region continues to present myriad opportunities even with the slowdown, due to the diverse nature of its industry and the fact that for many glass products, demand is still in its infancy and preparing to grow.” With an increased focus on container glass running alongside the traditional flat and processed glass sectors of the show, Gulf Glass 2009 continues to draw on a wider exhibitor base than ever before.

Quality technology is always in demand” says Hudson “and it is clearly those that continue to maintain their profile in the marketplace that emerge from difficult times in the most positive light. Most glass processors and manufacturers do not want their suppliers to disappear at the first signs of trouble, especially in a region such as the Middle East where long term business relationships are built on consistency and trust.”

Gulf Glass 2009 takes place from 16-18 March at Expo-Centre Sharjah, UAE.
