Bystronic glass: A preview of glasstec 2008 - Hall 14 / Stand E 24

Live at the Bystronic glass stand
At glasstec 2008, the Bystronic glass group will once again present numerous new products and developments for efficient processing of building and vehicle glass. A live demonstration which has never been seen before at glasstec awaits visitors, during which Bystronic glass will prove its competence as a supplier of complete system solutions.

The theme of this year’s glasstec “Glass and Energy” will also be handled via several topics which will be presented at the stand and will be explored in decisive areas, such as sustainability, energy efficiency, environmental protection, and environmentally friendly use of resources.

Bystronic glass will present the following machines, among others, in the respective core competences:

1. Glass cut

• first´sort sorting system
The dynamic sorting system first´sort is equipped with seven harp racks and demonstrates the modern solution for sorting flat glass in confined spaces quickly and efficiently. The system requires an average of twelve seconds for one sorting process. At the same time, first´sort offers sufficient freedom for individual production requirements. For instance, Glass lites can be manually transferred inward and outward at numerous positions. The system processes glass lites in thicknesses from three to ten millimetres and formats from 190 x 350 millimetres to 2,500 x 1,600 millimetres.

2. Laminated safety glass production

• Laminated safety glass line smart´lamiline
With smart´lamiline, Bystronic glass presents an effective entry-level solution for the production of laminated safety glass, which makes an impact with a number of technical extras. One of the features smart´lamiline has to offer is a fully automatic seaming station prior to preliminary lamination. The customer can therefore freely decide on how many millimetres of protrusion the foil has to be seamed. The fully automatic seaming process is suited for any types of foil including twelve-layer foils with an overall strength of 4.6 millimetres.

3. Insulating glass production

• Sealing robot compactsealer
The compactsealer from Bystronic glass has made a name for itself not only because of its excellent cost/benefit ratio but also because of the unique value-added program that is included for the customer. When opting for the compactsealer, customers receive an immediately available, cost-effective sealing robot with a guaranteed worldwide fixed price. Thanks to the revised control unit and user interface, operating the compactsealer is now even easier.

Warm-edge applications
As the only machine manufacturer worldwide that can offer automated solutions for all standard spacer systems, Bystronic glass will also accommodate the growing demand for warm-edge products at the glasstec. Live demonstrations will regularly show the application of spacers TPS® and SuperSpacer® with TriSealTM.

4. Handling devices

Bystronic glass will exhibit numerous handling devices in the area of vacuum suction devices for use under a variety of conditions. A small variant of the Glasmaxilift, the world’s largest handling device, will be shown, among others.

5. Vehicle glass pre-processing

• champ´grind
The most impressive features of the new generation of glass grinders champ´grind are the significantly reduced processing times and a considerably improved operator comfort.

The optimized acceleration and deceleration process ensures even more dynamic grinding of the glass lites at a processing speed of up to 30 meters per minute. Better cycle times can be achieved thanks to faster processing of the corners of convex contours.

Also as far as maintenance is concerned, the new champ´grind is considerably more user friendly. For instance, the grinding wheel diameter can be measured directly on the machine. Besides, wheel replacement is done semi-automatically. Thanks to the new closure, it is also possible to replace the spray housing much quicker.

6. Other products
• Photovoltaic

Bystronic glass has reacted to the worldwide interest in photovoltaic systems. The application of TPS® on semiconductor substrates will be shown live at the stand several times a day.

• Service & Support
The comprehensive service packages offered in the area of service & support will be one of the topics presented by Bystronic glass at this year’s glasstec. The service areas hotline, spare parts catalogue, maintenance contracts and trainings, etc. will be presented.
