Global Fair Alliance: Four signatures, one common goal

With the signing of a cooperation agreement at the fensterbau/frontale 2008 exhibition in Nürnberg on 3 April 2008, four organizers of leading international exhibitions have laid the foundation for global cooperation.

Whether global warming or rising energy prices, the basic problem that the temperature inside buildings differs from the outside temperature and the resulting measures and consequences are similar almost everywhere in the world. The better the insulation, the lower the energy consumption needed for heating or cooling. Windows, doors and facades play a special role here and companies in many countries are working constantly on innovations in this field and on integrated solutions incorporating solar technology, ventilation and solar protection.

The leading market players in the industry are almost all globally active, whereas smaller companies often operate only at regional level – a global network of exhibition organizers is therefore a logical step for supporting producers and customers all over the world and creating a comprehensive network. The new Global Fair Alliance is the result of talks with exhibition organizers, companies and associations during and since the fensterbau/frontale exhibition two years ago.

The first step involves guidance for exhibitors and visitors on deciding where the industry’s most important exhibitions take place. Modern exhibitions are geared to continents. If exhibition experts from America, Asia, Eurasia and Europe join forces and combine their know-how, global and regional trends and themes can be recognized better and exhibitors and visitors given efficient support in selecting the right communication platform. The Internet information for the individual events will be pooled on the website at www.global-fair-alliance.com and be available in several languages.

The organizers of Fenestration China, fensterbau/frontale, GlassBuild America and Istanbul Window met at fensterbau/frontale 2008 in Nürnberg to seal the agreement on cooperation in this field and commence specific work on the vision. The first phase of the cooperation is fixed at ten years and also includes the coordination of exhibition dates.
