Tempver ceramic enamels design the new face of architecture

Even in architecture, Tempver ceramic enamels are an important, reliable tool with an extensive color palette that offers construction versatility and a strong visual impact. This allows glass to reaffirm its leading role in design and architecture.

When two buildings located in the very heart of industrial Italy, Hotel Cruise in Montano Lucino (Como) and Guna Pharmaceutical Laboratories in Milan were redeveloped, the choice therefore fell on ceramic enamels by the Fenzi group, a leading manufacturer of chemical products designed specifically for the secondary processing of flat glass.

Must-haves for the redevelopment projects were screen-printed glass sheets by Glassfer, a leading European producer of tempered glass for the building industry, which used Tempver ceramic paints. These products are becoming increasingly more popular for enameling and decorating glass for the building industry, furniture and electrical appliances to obtain quality products that live up to expectations.

The main facade of Hotel Cruise is definitely attention-grabbing: an 800 m² glass sheet divided into 260 x 120 cm pieces of glass, each of a different color chosen from among the various shades of red, yellow, beige and white. The enameled screen printing used to color the glass enabled Studio Bodega and Total Tool to obtain all the RAL color tones, fully highlighting the decorations that were planned during the design phase. The facade features glass that has been processed using 5 different screen-printing methods.

Undulating shapes are the most striking visual feature of the glass cladding on the main facade of Guna Pharmaceutical Laboratories. It is an opaque ventilated façade that comprises IG sheets made of tempered and enameled screen-printed glass in 5 different colors on the outside. This decision gave the building its impactful style, and also brought benefits to the indoor temperature, an essential element for pharmaceutical products. As a result of the materials used, the Guna Laboratories facade was assigned the “Aluminum in Renovation” national award in 2007.
