Double the laser power for ByVention

First upgrade of the smallest laser cutting machine for standard sheet metal formats. As of now the ByVention is available with either 2200 or 4400 watt laser power for all customers in Europe .

Bystronic provided one of the highlights at the MACH 2008 trade fair in Birmingham/UK with the presentation of the first upgrade to its ByVention, the smallest laser cutting system for standard sheet metal formats. The most prominent upgrade is the doubling of the laser power: With immediate effect ByVention is available in Europe with either a 2200-watt or a 4400-watt laser source. Furthermore, the version with the 4400-watt laser is supplied as standard with two cutting heads (5 and 7.5 inches). With the 2200-watt version, the 7.5-inch cutting head is offered as an optional extra. Another innovation is that regardless of which laser source is chosen, ByVention can now be optionally upgraded with the ByVision high-performance control.

Higher power

Thanks to the higher laser power, the ByVention achieves higher cutting speeds. Furthermore, the piercing times are reduced and the productive time increases significantly since fewer separation cuts have to be made. The ByVention with 4.4 kilowatts of laser power provides these advantages from a material thickness of three millimeters upwards. The higher power also means greater cost efficiency. Already from a thickness of 4 millimeters with steel, 2 millimeters with stainless steel and 1 millimeter with aluminium, the user saves hard cash. One hundred percent more power with a footprint just seven percent larger. To save space the ByLaser 4400 is integrated into the chassis of the machine. Thus ByVention is and remains the smallest laser cutting system for standard sheet metal formats.

Higher precision and flexibility

The exceptional cutting precision of the ByVention is not least due to the vibration-reducing mineral composite machine frame. Thanks to the doubled laser power and the additional 7.5-inch cutting head, this precision has been extended to the processing of thicker metal sheets.

More flexibility, greater operating convenience and a significantly increased potential for processing special parts are achieved thanks to Bystronic’s high-performance ByVision control package that is now optionally available for the ByVention. This is particularly true for high-end users. Less experienced users continue to benefit from the simple and logical operation via the manual operating panel with a touch screen and the pre-defined programs and cutting parameters.

The potential of the ByVention equipped with 4400 watts of laser power can in particular be taken advantage of with the processing of steel, stainless steel and aluminium sheets with a thickness of between four and eight millimeters and when particular importance is placed on oxide-free cutting edges. When using nitrogen, this system offers clear speed advantages already from a sheet metal thickness of 1 millimeter.
