Official Opening Ceremony of the new building of Bystronic Inc

To celebrate the opening of the new building of the North American subsidiary of the BYSTRONIC Group a festive inauguration ceremony as well as an Open-House- Event were held at USA-Hauppauge (Long Island - New York) on May 16, 2002 with more than 200 clients, suppliers and guests of honor attending.

In 1978 BYSTRONIC Inc. was founded as a subsidiary of the Swiss BYSTRONIC Group in the United States of America. The field of activities includes sales and installation of machinery and equipment for flat glass processing and insulating glass production of the brands BYSTRONIC and LENHARDT, as well as laser cutting systems and bending machinery of the brands BYSTRONIC and HÄMMERLE in Northern America and Mexico.

Over the last few years the development of the company in the USA was very successful due to the innovative power of the BYSTRONIC Group and showed steady expansion. „To secure future growth, to reach set targets and to fulfill the future demands of our clients we had to invest in new buildings“, said the founder and General Manager, Ulrich Troesch, during his speech. In addition to the newly built headquarters in Hauppauge/New York there are additional sales and service offices in Chicago, Los Angeles, Greenville and Mexico City.

The new building has a useable floor space of approx. 6,300 sqm. Offices for administration, sales and service are distributed on 3 floors. The main part of the building consists of a Demo Center of approx. 3,500 sqm, in which the state-of-the-art development of the sheet metal and glass processing systems for automotive and architectural glass are presented. The extensive inventory of spare parts as well as a customer training center, which includes the latest communications technologies, are completing the extensive services of Bystronic Inc.

It goes without saying that all windows in the new building are fitted with modern TPS insulating glass and its elastic, thermally insulated spacer system. The units were sealed with silicone and, due to the gas-filled, UV-resistant TPS-edge seal, ideal for use in structural glazing. In the meantime the insulating glass production system TPS, developed and patented by Lenhardt is established on the American market and its popularity continues to grow due to its high product quality and its flexible, efficient production method.

During the Opening Ceremony the Managing Director of Lenhardt, Mr. Volker Abt presented to Mr. Ulrich Troesch a gift of a special kind: a TPS-insulating glass unit, specially produced for this occasion, shaped like the new building, with an extravagant internal graphic within the unit.

With the completion of the new building Bystronic Inc. created an important basis for the future positive development of the business and secured its position as a leading supplier of sheet metal and glass processing systems for the American market.
