Nigeria: Uduaghan Set to Resuscitate Glass Factory

Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan of Delta State says the State Government is determined to resuscitate the moribund Delta Glass Factory, Ughelli by bringing private investors to take it over.

Speaking, yesterday, at Agbarho where he commissioned the multi-million naira palace of the Osuivie of Agbarho Kingdom, he said the aim was to create job for the unemployed in the state. He also assured the people that all outstanding projects in the kingdom would be completed soon.

The governor, who donated N10 million for the completion of the project on behalf of the state government, congratulated Agbarho people for building the modern edifice through self help.

Decrying the non-completion of some of the government projects in Agbarho, the governor said the contract for the abandoned projects have been terminated and re-awarded to another contractor.

Uduaghan further stated that he was aware of flooding in Agbarho community during the raining season, directing the contractor handling the road project to include drainage system if it is not in their original designs of the roads.

He directed that the chairman of Niger cat, Chief Mike Omeru to see him in the office today (Wednesday).

Earlier in his opening speech, the Chairman of the occasion General Esio Obada (Rtd) recalled that the quest to build a beffiting palace for the Osuivie started in 1979.

While congratulating the sons and daughters of Agbarho for single handedly building the palace, Gen Obada said the new palace befits the status of the monarch.

He commended the state government for the rapid rate with which the Okan Road was being constructed, urging the governor to bring more projects to Agbarho.
