Saint-Gobain Unit Makes Acquisition

 Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics of Aurora has acquired IFK Isofluor GmbH, a German manufacturer of fluoropolymer tubing, for an undisclosed price.
Tom Kinisky, president of Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics, called the IFK acquisition an excellent fit for his company, which makes plastic reinforced hose and tube for various industries.
The fluoropolymer tubing made by IFK is used in such sectors as aerospace and transportation, electronics, chemical and pharmaceutical manufacturing, and food processing.
Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics is part of the Paris-based Saint-Gobain Group, a producer of construction products, flat glass, and high-performance materials and packaging. The group had worldwide sales of $52 billion in 2006.
