The Explosion Of The Water Treatment Equipment At Asahi Glass Fine Techno Korea

Concerning the explosion accident occurred around 10:15 am (Korea Time) at Asahi Glass Fine Techno Korea (Gumi, Gyeongsangbuk-do, Korea; President: Shoji Morikawa) during repair work of hydrochloric acid storage tank, a part of water treatment equipment, we announce current status as follows.
The explosion claimed one death and two injuries of employees in a Korean subcontractor who were working in the area. We sincerely extend our condolence to those dead worker, his bereaved family, injured workers and their families. Currently, the cause of the accident is unknown. There is no effect on the production of the TFT LCD glass substrates at this company as of now.
