Free Wind-Borne Debris Glazing Symposium For Architects, Builders And Developers

Florida architects, builders and developers are invited to learn the latest about wind-borne debris requirements for design and construction at a free architectural symposium organized by CGI Windows & Doors. The Future of Windborne Debris will feature leading industry experts who will discuss the most current information on building requirements and what changes to expect in the coming years.
The symposium is free to all qualified attendees who pre-register. Architects will earn three Health, Welfare & Safety AIA Learning Units. Course completion certificates will also be provided to all attendees at the conclusion of the seminar. The Future of Wind-Borne Debris will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan 31 at the Deerfield Beach Hilton Hotel, 100 Fairway Drive, Deerfield Beach, Florida, 33441, 954-427-7700. Lunch is included. An AIA-accredited symposium, The Future of Wind-Borne Debris will bring architects, builders and developers the most up-to-date information on design, construction and building codes for residential and commercial glazing requirements. In addition to presentations, the symposium will also include a live demonstration of the air cannon test used to certify window systems under the Florida building code.
Presenters will include:
- John Knezevich, Vice President, Thornton Tomasetti, a building engineering services company
- Vinu Abraham, CEO of HTL, a fenestration consulting, testing and certification company
- Chris Matthews, Glazing Consultants International, LLC, specializing in the exterior building envelope
The symposium is endorsed by the AIA Ft. Lauderdale Chapter, the AIA Palm Beach Chapter and the AIA Treasure Coast Chapter.
