Serbia: Asahi Glass Invest 120 Million EUR In Serbia

Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Bozidar Djelic stated that the Japanese company Asahi Glass, the second largest glass company in the world, could invest €120 million in Serbia.

In an interview for tomorrow’s edition of the weekly Evropa, Djelic announced new investments in Serbia and added that after six years of contemplation, the Swedish furniture company Ikea finally decided to come to Serbia and through it enter the southeast European market.

He added he is helping Ikea representatives to find an appropriate location because that will be another proof of European life in Serbia.

According to Djelic, company Ball Packaging Europe plans to build another plant in Serbia worth €40 million and make it one of the largest beverage can factories in Europe.

The Deputy Prime Minister also said that the German company Siemens bought a portion of the Sever electric machine factory from Subotica and increased the number of workers from 120 to 400.

All of this is proof that regardless of the political situation in Serbia, investors want to expand their plants and thus show how attractive the Serbian market is, stressed Djelic.
