Energy Saver FP™ System Offers Leading Edge Fall Protection

Larry Zupon, Vice President of Guardian Building Products Distribution, Inc.’s GBP Silvercote business unit, announced today that its Energy Saver insulation system has been enhanced to include OSHA-compliant leading edge fall protection. This insulation system protects the installation crew while the building is insulated and roofed.

“The Energy Saver FP System offers metal building contractors a reliable, safe and efficient OSHA-compliant fall protection system to insulate the roofs of pre-engineered metal buildings. The system also includes GreenGuard certified Guardian fiberglass insulation as well as all other components needed,” stated Zupon.
Consisting of a network of white galvanized banding and white support fabric, the system restrains and supports up to 400 pounds dropped from at least 42” above the system, therefore meeting OSHA guidelines as defined in Title 29 CFR 1926.502.
Priority is placed on both safety and quality when producing the Energy Saver FP fabric panels. Lasers are used to align the fabric prior to welding. The result is smooth, straight and strong seams. In fact, the fabric has nearly invisible seams that are actually stronger than the fabric itself. GBP Silvercote employs a rigorous quality control program of testing actual production samples of welded Energy Saver FP fabric.

The system is shipped complete with all materials needed to install: banding, fabric, insulation, fasteners, glue, tape, etc. Each system is custom manufactured to meet the specifications of each building. Everything arrives packaged and labeled to streamline the installation process. The Energy Saver FP system may also be installed in wall systems.

To insure quality and worker safety, GBP Silvercote provides training on how to properly install the system. An online contractor certification program will be available by the end of the year. Leading edge fall protection is certified by GBP Silvercote when installed by Guardian certified installation contractors.
In addition to providing leading edge fall protection, Energy Saver FP provides excellent thermal performance. Configurations from R-19 to R-40 are available. The finished system offers a bright, clean and durable finished surface that is resistant to tears.

Both the fiberglass insulation and the fabric offer exceptional fire performance with a FHC 25/50 flame spread and smoke development rather per UL 723/ASTM E-84.

GBP Silvercote operates 28 insulation lamination plants throughout the United States and is a business unit of Guardian Building Products Distribution, Inc., part of the Guardian Building Products group. The company manufactures, fabricates and distributes a variety of insulation systems and products used in metal building construction.
