CRL expands headquarters
|
Los Angeles-based C.R. Laurence (CRL), a leading supplier to the glazing, industrial, construction and automotive industries, began a very extensive expansion of the company's corporate headquarters and warehouses in Los Angeles.
This new expansion involved the purchase of adjacent properties and the subsequent razing of existing structures on those properties. When the project is finished, CRL will be expanding from 150,000 square feet of total space to 60,000 square feet of office space and 250,000 square feet of warehouse area, more than doubling the existing footprint.
The company has also purchased property several blocks away from the corporate headquarters. Later this year, CRL's two manufacturing facilities in Gardena, Calif., will be relocated and combined into one central manufacturing facility on that property.
Don Friese, president and CEO, stated, "We believe our expanded facility will not only increase efficiency and raise our level of service to our customers, but it is also a good business decision. Having manufacturing combined into one entity will streamline our manufacturing process and eliminate redundancy."
Manufacturing at the new state-of-the-art facility will focus on CRL's truck slider windows for the OEM and aftermarkets, transaction hardware and service windows, and the company's new commercial hardware line for frameless glass storefronts.
