AFG Industries, Inc. will change its name to AGC Flat Glass North America on September 4. AFG’s parent company, Asahi Glass Co., Ltd. is unifying the Group brand globally under the name “AGC”. Asahi, the world’s leader in glass production, has been AFG’s parent since acquiring the glass producer, fabricator, distributor in December of 1992.

The name change will impact all Asahi companies – Chemicals, Electronics & Energy, Displays, Automotive, as well as Flat Glass. AFG President and CEO Brad Kitterman states: “From the flat glass perspective, the global branding strategy will strengthen the organization in each of the regional markets served.” These regions include Asia (Asahi), Europe (Glaverbel), and North America (AFG).
