Glassbuild America Announces Architect Program In Collaboration With Aia Georgia Chapter

GlassBuild America: The Glass, Window & Door Expo is pleased to announce that it has collaborated with the Georgia Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) to bring a new architect program to its 2007 event in Atlanta.

A networking breakfast and presentation will be held Tuesday, September 11, 2007 at the Georgia World Congress Center during GlassBuild America. The program is open to architects and specifiers only and will feature speaker, Celia Meech-Henigman, President & Designer/Consultant of ATG Studio, Inc. Her presentation, titled "Art Glass Design in Architecture," will give participants an understanding of art glass as a design element and also cover exemption status of art glass design, building codes and zoning. AIA member architects will earn 1.5 LUs for attendance.

After the networking breakfast and presentation, architects are invited to take a tour of the trade show floor and will be provided with a special map highlighting booths that feature architectural products.

"GlassBuild America can be a great resource to architects in finding out about the latest products and technologies that the glass, window and door industries have to offer," stated Michele Nosko, V.P. of Marketing for GlassBuild America's parent organization, the National Glass Association. "In collaborating with AIA Georgia, we feel we're adding even more value to the event for architects by giving them an opportunity to network and earn LUs."

"With GlassBuild America being in our own backyard here in Atlanta, we were excited to help with the program and offer our members this opportunity," stated Susan Ellis Proper, Director of Operations and Programs for AIA Georgia. "The products they can see at the show, along with the new contacts they will meet and the relevant presentation on art glass design will provide an invaluable experience for
our members."
