New Gas-Lock Seals from Thermoseal Group Limited

Ensure that your sealed units pass the EN1279 gas test by applying the new low cost Gas-Lock Seals™ to spacer tube corners and edges which may otherwise leave your sealed unit susceptible to gas leakage.

Gas-Lock Seals™ have been developed by Thermoseal Group in response to the growing number of sealed unit manufacturers producing units filled with an inert gas.

Gas-Lock Seals™ are adhesive strips that can be stuck directly onto spacer tube to cover corners and joints, as well as staple holes. They provide additional protection against the escape of gas which, if left to leak out over time, will cause a unit to fail inside of its guarantee period.

Mark Hickox, Sales Director at Thermoseal Group, says: “Following several conversations with manufacturers who are currently struggling to pass the EN1279 gas test using standard glazing equipment and methods of sealed unit production, we set about looking for a solution.

“Our new Gas-Lock Seals are a simple but effective answer to this common problem. They have been produced using our broad knowledge of sealed unit manufacture and almost thirty years’ glass and glazing industry experience.

”We’ve tested the seals extensively and have produced a short video using gas leakage equipment with an audible response to demonstrate their efficiency when applied to a sealed unit. This video is available on request.”

New Gas Lock Seals™ are available for as little as 23p per 100. The following sizes are available in rolls of approximately 1,300 seals: 8 x 35mm suitable for covering Georgian Staple holes; 18 x 35mm for spacer tube with a 12mm airspace; 22 x 35mm for spacer tube with a 16mm airspace; And 26 x 35mm for spacer tube with a 20mm airspace.
