Gerresheimer glass buys Vitro's 51 percent stake

"Vitro SA said it has sold its 51 pct stake in its Ampolletas SA unit to its joint venture partner in the company, Gerresheimer Glass AG, for 13.4 mln usd in cash.
Gerresheimer Glass owns the remaining 49 pct in Ampolletas, which specialises in glass packaging for the pharmaceutical industry.
Vitro said it will use the proceeds from the sale to reduce debt. It said the sale in itself will also reduce its consolidated debt by 7.8 mln usd.
It said the sale forms part of the company's strategy of concentrating on its core businesses."
