Waste Services (UK) has been awarded a four year contract to collect bring bank glass in Hampshire - the company's first agreement of this kind with a council in the county.

Waste Services, a commercial waste and recycling collection specialist which is part of Verdant Group, will collect the glass on behalf of New Forest district council.

Around 2,000 tonnes of glass is expected to be picked-up each year from recycling facilities in urban and rural areas including Lymington, New Milton and Lyndhurst, as well as in the New Forest National Park.

A Waste Services skip vehicle will visit each site on a varying cycle depending on how quickly the banks fill-up and replace those which are full with an empty bank.
