Saint-Gobain Vetrotex Increases Production Capacity Of TWINTEX ® by 25% in Europe

The Saint-Gobain Reinforcement & Composites Activity has increased its European production capacity for TWINTEX ® by 25% in its Chambéry plant (FR) as of April 2007.

This latest investment in Europe follows an increasing market demand for the now well established TWINTEX ® product range in various industries and all over the world.

Latest TWINTEX ® developments include the new TWINTEX ® pellets. This is a new type of highly concentrated long fiber reinforced pellets dedicated to LFT (Long Fiber Thermoplastic) structural piece manufacturing. These pellets improve customers’ productivity and provide excellent mechanical properties. In addition, dilution with polypropylene during injection allows maximization of the glass ratio and formulation for the targeted technical performance.

Successful applications and customer partnerships cover all industries: energy with LPG gas bottles, solar panels, aeronautics with air cargo containers, sports & leisure with catamarans, and the automotive sector with door modules, front ends, truck bodies, etc.

Thanks to its outstanding properties and cost effective molding processes, TWINTEX ® offers new opportunities to the composite market by replacing conventional materials such as steel, aluminum and wood.
