PPG Industries donates $5,000 to Cuyahoga Community College Foundation

PPG Industries has donated $5,000 to the Cuyahoga Community College Foundation to fund participation by underserved, highly motivated Cleveland-area high school students in an early college technology education program.

“We are very pleased to receive support from PPG for students taking part in our early college programs,” said Gloria J. Moosmann, executive director, Cuyahoga Community College Foundation. “This funding not only enables underserved tenth- through twelfth-graders to take part in programs such as the NASA SEMAA (Science, Engineering, Mathematics and Aerospace Academy) summer camp, but it also gives them access to workforce training in a college learning environment that encourages them to continue their education beyond high school.”

Students enrolled in Tri-C’s early college programs can simultaneously complete high school requirements and earn college credits, Moosmann said, and the programs serve more than 2,300 local students annually.

Larry Corrigan, PPG North American operations director for automotive coatings, based at the company’s manufacturing facility in Cleveland, said, “PPG is strongly committed to supporting the communities where its employees work and live. We are proud to support the Cuyahoga Community College Foundation in helping Cleveland-area youths to experience and benefit from college-level technology education.”
