PPG Industries Buys Champion Coatings Assets

Houston-based Champion Coatings manufactures high-performance coatings for the rail, marine and overland industries, with a staff of 35.

The acquired assets include inventory, accounts receivable, selected equipment, brand names, formulations and a customer database. Champion's Houston plant will not be acquired by PPG, but will continue to manufacture Champion products for PPG for the foreseeable future.

Pittsburgh-based PPG Industries (NYSE: PPG) made a similar acquisition in 2006 by adding Ameron's performance coatings and finishes business to boost its presence in the protective and marine coatings market.

Am needing Champion Coatings product no.645-0A and 645-0B part B. That is called vynle wash primer and opaque wash primer. Any product cross over would be help full. Am major PPG distributer in south Texas market.A contact person would fine. Thank You Joseph R Rifon Tasco Auto Color 409-771-0974 or 281-479-1039 office
