Siemens: Saving Money On Heating Costs

In float glass manufacturing, the tin bath heating system’s temperature performance and energy efficiency are essential, not least because of the enormously high energy densities the system produces, with an operating performance of up to 3 MW.

In the tin bath and annealing lehr, SIGLAS® Roof Heating integrates not only thyristor power actuators but also heating transformers and circuit-breakers. And PROFIBUS DP seamlessly integrates the solution into the process control system, SIMATIC PCS 7. Our patented synchronization software also ensures that you can minimize fluctuations in incoming power, even with constantly fluctuating target values.

With SIGLAS Roof Heating, you can adjust the electrical power supply independently from the process in use, practically loss-free. This prevents power peaks, and thus lowers your electricity costs.
