Ex-CPT Executive to Join new China Panel Maker, Says Paper

Hsiang-Kuei Chung, a former vice president of the CRT business of Chunghwa Picture Tubes (CPT), will become president of China's Shen-Chao Optronics (transliterated from Chinese), with the China-based panel maker to build a fifth-generation (5G) TFT LCD plant, according to the Chinese-language Commercial Times.





The plant, to run at an initial capacity of 60,000 glass substrates 1,200×1,300mm in size, is designed to have a monthly capacity of 120,000 units and is now undergoing land development, the paper said, adding that the maker has also recruited former employees of CPT and HannStar Display.
