The weighing and dosing technology company Raute Precision Oy is changing its name. As of 2 October 2006, it will operate as Lahti Precision Oy. Correspondingly, the new name of Raute Dry Mix Oy will be Lahti Dry Mix Oy.
The renaming will not affect the business operations of the companies.
Raute Precision Oy and its subsidiary Raute Dry Mix Oy, which were previously part of the Raute Group, were transferred into the ownership of a fund managed by Eqvitec Partners Oy, and Raute Precision’s management following a share transaction in February 2004. The acquisition involved an agreement to remove “Raute” from the name of Raute Precision Oy and its subsidiaries by the end of 2006.
The new name is derived from the city where Lahti Precision is headquartered, Lahti – which is where the company first went into business in 1914 as a scale manufacturer. Nowadays, Lahti Precision Oy is one of the world’s two leading suppliers of glass batch plants and mortar plants, and the market leader in the weighing business in Finland.
Lahti Precision Oy supplies weighing and dosing systems and plants, scales and weighing components as well as related maintenance services. Its customers operate in the glass industry, the plaster and mortar industry, other process industries as well as trade and transport. Its subsidiary Lahti Dry Mix Oy focuses on product technology services for the plaster and mortar industry.
Lahti Precision Oy operates worldwide with business units in Finland and China, located in Lahti, Espoo, Parainen, Jyväskylä, and Shanghai.
Lahti Precision’s business has grown in recent years. Today the company boasts a robust market position. In 2005, the company had a turnover of EUR 46 million, of which 72 per cent was generated by exports. The Group currently employs 240 people.
