Mining and processing company Kaolin, launched Wednesday a factory for foundry sands in Devnya, in the coastal Varna area.

The Kaolin factory will supply foundry sands to the Drujba and Stind glassworks, both part of the Greek Yioula Group, and to the Sisecam glass factories in Targovishte. Kaolin will open May 5 a kaolin mine in the village of Doirantsi, in the Shumen region. The company has invested 3 mln levs in the deposit estimated at 10 mln tons.

Kaolin, part of Alpha Finance Holding, is the regional leader in the mining, processing and logistics of various industrial minerals. The company's structure includes ten manufacturing units in different parts of Bulgaria, including Vetovo, Senovo, Ignatievo and Kaolinovo, among others.
