Viglacera begins IZ construction
|
The Glass and Construction Ceramics Corporation (Viglacera) last Friday began building the Yen Phong industrial zone (IZ), the corporations second investment in the northern Bac Ninh Province.
Viglacera will pour nearly VND990 billion (roughly US$62 million) into the 340-ha IZs infrastructure.
The IZ is located at the intersection of the North-South corridor (National Highways 1A and 1B, which link Ha Noi and the northern Lang Son Province) and the East-West corridor (Highway 18, which connects Noi Bai International Airport and the Cai Lan deep water port in the northern Quang Ninh Province).
It will lie next to the railroad from Ha Noi to Lang Son Province, which neighbours China.
Factories and warehouses will make up 60 per cent and the remaining area of the IZ will be used for public works, trees, technical infrastructure and roads. The IZ is expected to generate jobs for 15,000 local workers.
After the ground-breaking ceremony, the Bac Ninh Province IZ Management Board granted licences to the first two businesses, which will in total lease nearly 20 ha.
