Pilkington to Help Build US$200 MLN Glass Factory in Kazakhstan
|
Kazakhstan Investment Fund and Britain's Pilkington Pls, one of the world's biggest producers of structural glass, have formed a joint venture to build a glass factory near Kzyl-Orda.
"We signed an agreement in late January to form a joint venture for the glass project. Investment will total US$200 million. This will be the biggest industrial project in the country with a very well-known world company, head of the fund Zeinulla Kakimzhanov told the upper house of Kazakhstan's parliament.
"I'd like to say this will be a difficult project technologically," he said.
