Reflex is finalist in Shell Springboard Awards
|
The reflex heat reflective glass unit was short listed in the finals by Shell for its central Springboard awards which recognize small business achievements for innovative carbon reducing products with business credibility.
Held at the Palace hotel in Manchester city centre in February, reflex was one of eight products to beat 265 national energy saving projects to the finals. Ex dragons den contestant David Wilks was one of the three eventual winners to receive a grant of £40,000 for his water saving device
.
Shell recognized the duel energy saving features of reflex in both the winter and the summer, they were impressed with the future development plans for the heat reflective coating, to help combat the greenhouse effect by reducing carbon dioxide emissions.
Shell UK Chairman James Smith commented that reflex was a clever way of homeowners reducing carbon emissions and increasing comfort.
Lord Wade of Chorlton was clearly impressed with reflex and said that he wished the company success in the future with regards to the ambitious product developments.
The Shell Springboard event is the perfect way for promoting ideas to help combat climate control problems and help get innovative environmental projects off the ground.
