Navteq Opts For Vitrics 3D Laser Engraving To Reinforce Reseller Branding

International digital map data company, NAVTEQ has specified 3D engraved Vitrics glass as the format for a series of reseller branding plaques, designed to increase its point of sale brand presence across Europe.

To be displayed in the outlets of key automotive retailers which sell products that incorporate NAVTEQ technology, such as in-car satellite navigation systems, the wall mounted and desk top plaques will be used to project the hi-tec NAVTEQ brand at every possible point of sale.

Produced by Sky Design, the European leader in Vitrics glass 3D laser engraving technology, the wall mounted plaques will display the engraved NAVTEQ brand in colourless glass, suspended 2 cm’s above a dark blue plaque, which will sit flush with the wall. The desk-top version of the plaque, designed for sales counters, will be crafted from the same colourless glass, and held in a small aluminium stand, incorporating a series of LED lights which project through the plaque.

This is the first time that Paris based Sky Design has worked with NAVTEQ and the 3D laser engraving specialist has already created 30 wall mounted and 40 desk-top plaques for NAVTEQ resellers.

“The customer only really sees the result of the product and not the product itself and these reseller plaques will help to project our brand to customers and reinforce the sales presence of products that incorporate our technologies,” explains Eric Fumat, NAVTEQ marketing director for Europe.

“Glass is a very noble material and projects an image of quality. We want to do everything we can to increase our brand presence and help our retailers to improve the visual merchandising of their top end automotive satellite navigation product ranges.”

Sky Design is Europe’s leading Vitrics 3D laser glass engraving specialist. As well as creating stylish bespoke branding fixtures for organisations like NAVTEQ, the Sky Design team of craftsmen design 3D laser engraved pieces for design installations, corporate, governmental and domestic architectural installations, signage and also pieces for use in domestic environments.
