Pacifica Glass Company - a thriving operation since 1952

Pacifica Glass Company is one of the oldest businesses in Pacifica. It has been a thriving operation since 1952 doing both residential and commercial jobs and working with every brand of window and glass product.
When new owners Sal Ramirez and Bill Granger took over the shop in 1990, along with then-partner Joe Rivera, they did so after working many years in the trade. In fact, the window and glass business in Pacifica seems to be made up of a handful of people who know each other well because they have worked together in various associations over the years.
Ramirez, a glazier, started working for Pacifica Glass in 1981 when he was a student at Oceana High School. He's rather camera shy and requested that the Tribune photograph only his hand-crafted business sign for this article.
Granger has an older history with Pacifica Glass Company He was first associated with the former owners, Emil (Sonny) White, as a bookkeeper. He is still active in the office.
The Pacifica Glass business began in a garage in the back of a bar, Fraizer's Edgemar Club. It has always been a successful business and once occupied a large building near City Hall where it had 16 employees and six trucks.
