Zak Glasstec fair in Mumbai

To provide a platform for convergence of new technologies in glass and glazing industry, Zak Glasstech will be held on 8-11 December at NSE Complex in Mumbai.

Zak Glasstech International, organised by the Zak group, over the years has grown as a major activity hub for the SAARC. Interesting sub-events like technology seminar make Zak Glasstech one of the awaited technology fair in the glass industry.

Growing quality consciousness has led to a rapid expansion of the float glass segment in a market which was predominantly a sheet glass market till six years back. Float glass currently has 70 per cent market share and is driving the growth in the sector. As per industry estimates, the sector has been growing at 8 per cent for the last couple of years and is expected to grow at 10-15 per cent in the coming years.

'Zak Glasstech International 2005 is scheduled to be the largest covergence of all teh stakeholders of the glass industry in the country, which will help bring in new technologies, innovations in service, cost effective production, better quality and global trade relationship,' says Syed Zakir Ahmed, managing director, Zak Trade Fairs and Exhibitions Pvt Ltd.

The Rs 5,000 crore architectural glass industry is on the verge of a new phase, acquiring a new look as the major global players in the segment are looking at consolidating through massive investments in land, manpower and technology and are resorting to aggressive brand building towards carving a niche for themselves in their product categories and services.

Zak Glasstech since its inception had become India's premiere event for the glass and glazing industry. Being a part of this show, 'it adds to our strength and gives us a chance to showcase the latest technologies from our organisation which we bring from around the world,' says Amit Malhotra, managing director, McCoy Silicons Ltd, channel partner of the event.
