Cleverglass to build CZK 1 billion plant in North Bohemia

Company Cleverglass from the Cadence Innovation group will next year build a plant worth some CZK 1 billion to produce polycarbonate glass sheets near Liberec, the daily Mlada fronta Dnes said yesterday.
The North Bohemian town of Hradek nad Nisou has been the most suitable candidate for the plant's location so far, the daily writes.
"We will be the first company in the world to produce polycarbonate glass sheets protected against scratching by a resistant layer," Pavel Neumann from the company told the daily.
He added the material should replace the glass used to produce side and rear car windows, for instance.
Cleverglass will employ some 200 staff in the plant, the daily says.
Cadence Innovation has been in the hands of an association of US financial funds since May, according to information available to the CTK.
The company, which puts out plastic car components, employs some 1,800 staff in its three Czech plants.
Among its buyers are car makers Volkswagen, Suzuki and the grouping of Toyota, Peugeot and Citroen.
