A dozen glass works on display in Broad Ripple through Oct. 30 combine art and functionality in bold hues.
Using 100-year-old recipes and colors, Kokomo Opalescent Glass Hot Glass Studio has created hundreds of items in its Colorfields collection, including hand-blown martini glasses, vases, paperweights, tumblers and bowls. A dozen pieces will be on exhibit for Colorfields' Indianapolis debut at Artifacts Gallery, 6327 Guilford Ave.
The pieces were designed and created by Michael James Amis, a glass artist at KOG Hot Glass Studio. KOG, founded in 1888, is the world's oldest manufacturer of colored sheet glass. When the company began, a regular customer was Louis Comfort Tiffany.
