Emirates Glass Honours Two Senior Staff Members

 An organization's growth depends on the expertise and dedication of its employees and Emirates Glass, a Dubai Investment Group subsidiary and one of the leading quality glass manufacturers in the region, is fortunate that its management team is blessed with two such outstanding members, according to Mr. Khalid Kalban, MD and CEO, Dubai Investments.
"Nine years of excellence & 90 years of experience" was the theme of the function and gala dinner organized by Emirates Glass to honor two of its exceptional senior staff members Mr. Jerry Dowling, General Manager, and Mr. Arthur Millwood, Technical Manager. Emirates Glass is in its ninth year of operation and the two staff members together have nearly 90 years of experience in the industry.
Mr. Khalid Kalban, acknowledging their contribution to the all-round growth of Emirates Glass, said in his welcome speech, "Mr. Jerry Dowling and Mr. Arthur Millwood started their careers in 1960 with Pilkington plc, one of the worlds largest manufacturers of glass and glazing products for the building, automotive and technical markets. Emirates Glass is privileged to be associated with such industry veterans who have played an instrumental role in the growth of the company."
Mr Dowling joined Emirates Glass in 2001 and Mr Millwood in 2002 after working with Pilkington for over 21 years. "They brought technical expertise to the company with their depth of knowledge at a time when Emirates Glass was looking to grow. Their valuable contribution helped the company to expand manifold every year," Mr. Kalban pointed out.
"The two senior members of Emirates Glass have also given presentations at various regional and international forums. They have taken the company to greater heights from where, we are sure, we will reach more international acclaim," Mr. Kalban remarked.
Mr Kalban highlighted the fact that nine years ago Dubai Investments committed itself to glass industry through major investments in order to contribute to the industry and the UAE economy in general.
"Since then we have grown to become a major player with a good reputation in the international market. The company currently enjoys a major region-wide market share. Following this we have engaged in other projects including the recently announced USD 200 million float glass venture in Abu Dhabi and other investments. This will reinforce our commitment and leadership in the regional market," Mr. Kalban said.
Mr Kalban also said: "Without the strong commitment and support from shareholders this could not have been possible. This support has also enabled the company to look beyond the local and regional markets."
