William Marchido, chief financial officer of Apogee Enterprises Inc., resigned to pursue other opportunities. He had been in the position for a year and a half.
James Porter, 44, Apogee vice president of strategy and planning, was named interim CFO while the Bloomington-based glass manufacturer conducts an internal and external search for the CFO position.
Porter joined Apogee in 1997 as assistant controller and was promoted to controller in 1998 and vice president of financing and planning in 2000 before ascending to his current job in 2002.
"(Porter) has provided leadership in development of the company's strategic priorities focused on our architectural and picture framing businesses," said Russell Huffer, Apogee chairman and CEO in a statement released after the market closed today.
"We wish Bill (Marchido) success in his future endeavors," Huffer said.
Marchido, 54, joined the company Feb. 24, 2004. Previously he had been CFO at Siemens Dematic, a division of Siemens AG of Germany from 1988 to 2004, according to the company's annual report.
In heavy trading levels Tuesday, Apogee's stock closed down 53 cents per share, or 3.05 percent to $16.88 per share.
